Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Chichester, Bt.           1849-1906
Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Chichester, C.M.G., C.B., (9th Baronet of Raleigh). Edward was born on 20 November 1849, the son of Arthur Chichester and Mary Nicholetts, at Shirwell, Devonshire.
He entered the Navy in 1863. His naval service included the South African War 1899-1901; commanded Fleet Reserve, Devonport 1901; Rear Admiral 1902; Admiral Superintendent of all Naval Establishments in Gibraltar 1904-1906, where he died. The details of his life are found in his obituary.

Catherine was born about 1854, the daughter of Commander Robert Charles Whyte, R.N., and Joanna Preston, at Instow, Devonshire.
