Augustus George Kirby                       1847-1926
Augustus was born on 22 June 1847, the son of George Goldsmith Kirby and Harriet Sarah Watts, in r. After attending Rugby school, he entered Trinity Hall College, Cambridge in 1865. He received his B.A. in 1869, and his M.A. in 1874. He was ordained a deacon in 1870, and priest in 1871. He was the Curate at Farnham, Surrey, from 1870 to 1875, then at Northchurch, Herts, 1875-1880. He married Edith Smith-Dorrien. He was Rector at Pebmarsh, Essex, 1881-1912, then Vicar at South Weald 1912-1924. He then resided at Hythe, Kent.

Edith was born on 30 December 1853, the daughter of Robert Algernon Smith Dorrien and Mary Ann Drever, at Berkhamsted, Hertford.

DIED OF WOUNDS
  KIRBY - On the 29th April, died from wounds received when in the gallant execution of his duty, Robert Dorrien, second son of the Reverand A. G. and Mrs. Kirby, of South Weald.
